SMS Terms of Use

SMS Program Overview

Meta Xcel Academy LLC ("Meta Xcel," "we," "us," or "our") operates an SMS/text messaging program to communicate with prospective students, current enrollees, and alumni regarding our programs, services, enrollment updates, and career support. These SMS Terms of Use govern your participation in our messaging program.

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive SMS messages from Meta Xcel Academy, you agree to these SMS Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. These SMS Terms are supplemental to and incorporated into our Terms of Use.

Section 03

Types of Messages You May Receive

When you opt in to our SMS program, you may receive the following categories of messages:

Promotional messages will clearly identify themselves as such. You may opt out of promotional messages only while remaining enrolled in transactional and program-related messaging by replying PROMO STOP.

Section 04

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your enrollment status, program activity, and the nature of your interaction with Meta Xcel Academy. You can expect to receive:

  • Prospective students: Up to 4 messages per month during the admissions process;
  • Enrolled students: Up to 8 messages per month, including program updates, reminders, and career services communications;
  • Graduates in job search period: Up to 6 messages per month related to career placement support;
  • Alumni: Up to 2 messages per month regarding alumni events and program news.

During critical enrollment periods, cohort launches, or emergency notifications, message frequency may temporarily exceed these estimates. We will not send more than 3 messages in any 24-hour period unless responding to a message you initiated.

Message & Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard SMS and data rates charged by your mobile carrier apply to all messages sent and received as part of our program. Meta Xcel Academy does not charge separately for SMS messages, but your carrier's standard rates for text messaging and data usage will apply.

We strongly recommend reviewing your mobile carrier's rate plan before opting in. If you are unsure about your plan's messaging rates, contact your carrier directly. Common carrier contacts:

  • T-Mobile: 611 or t-mobile.com
  • Sprint: 611 or sprint.com

Meta Xcel Academy is not responsible for any charges from your carrier arising from participation in our SMS program.

Section 06

How to Opt Out

You may opt out of Meta Xcel Academy SMS communications at any time using any of the following methods:

Upon receipt of a STOP request, you will receive one final confirmation message: "You have been unsubscribed from Meta Xcel Academy SMS. You will receive no further messages. Reply START to resubscribe. For assistance call (202) 701-1300."

After opting out, you will not receive any further SMS messages except for legally required transactional communications directly related to an active financial obligation (such as payment plan reminders).

To re-enroll in our SMS program after opting out, reply START to our number or contact us directly. Standard opt-in consent will be required.

Carrier Disclaimer

Supported carriers include, but are not limited to: AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost Mobile, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, Cricket, and other major U.S. wireless carriers. Carrier participation may change without notice.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to network availability and carrier capacity. Meta Xcel Academy does not guarantee the delivery of any SMS message and is not responsible for messages delayed or undelivered due to carrier issues, network outages, spam filters, or device compatibility.

If you do not receive a confirmation message after opting in or opting out, please contact us directly at info@meta-xcel.com or by phone to confirm your status.

Privacy & Data Use

Your mobile phone number and SMS messaging data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Key points specific to SMS data:

  • We do not sell your mobile number. Your phone number will not be sold, rented, or shared with third-party marketers;
  • Service providers. We may share your number with our SMS platform provider and messaging service vendors solely for the purpose of delivering messages on our behalf. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose;
  • Opt-out records. We retain opt-out requests indefinitely to ensure we honor your preferences and comply with applicable law;
  • Consent records. We maintain records of your SMS opt-in consent, including the date, time, method of consent, and IP address or device identifier, as required by applicable law.
Section 10

TCPA Compliance

Meta Xcel Academy's SMS program is operated in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), 47 U.S.C. § 227, and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations promulgated thereunder, as well as the CAN-SPAM Act and applicable state laws.

Specifically, we comply with the following TCPA requirements:

  • We obtain prior express written consent before sending marketing text messages using an automatic telephone dialing system (ATDS) or pre-recorded voice messages;
  • We honor all opt-out requests within ten (10) business days, and immediately for STOP replies;
  • We do not send messages to numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry for marketing purposes;
  • We identify ourselves clearly in each message;
  • We include opt-out instructions in all marketing messages;
  • We do not send messages between the hours of 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM local time of the recipient.

Section 11

10DLC Registration

Our SMS program uses 10-digit long code (10DLC) numbers registered with major U.S. wireless carriers through The Campaign Registry (TCR) in compliance with industry standards for A2P (application-to-person) messaging. This registration:

  • Identifies Meta Xcel Academy as the authorized sender of messages from our registered number;
  • Specifies the types of messages we are authorized to send under each campaign use case;
  • Helps carriers recognize our messages as legitimate and reduces the likelihood of messages being filtered as spam;
  • Requires us to comply with carrier-specific content and volume policies.

Our 10DLC registration is maintained in good standing with all major U.S. carriers. If you experience consistent delivery failures of our messages, please contact your carrier's customer service to ensure our number is not blocked on your account.

Section 12

Changes to These Terms

We may update these SMS Terms of Use at any time. Material changes will be communicated by:

  • Updating this page and the "Last Updated" date;
  • Sending an SMS notification of material changes to all current subscribers;
  • Posting a notice on our website.

Your continued participation in our SMS program after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you may opt out at any time using the methods described in Section 6.
